Crohn's Ambassador

I’m incredibly proud to be the only non-celebrity official ambassador for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, an honour I received in November 2023.
It’s a role that means everything to me, especially when I think back
to December 2017, when I was led in a hospital bed, fighting
for my life.

Now, I work closely with the charity to raise awareness, fight stigma,
and highlight the importance of early diagnosis. Crohn’s Disease is
nothing to be ashamed of—and no one should feel alone in facing it.

Along this journey, I’ve been honoured with:
-
The Alex Demain Lifetime Awareness Award from Crohn’s & Colitis UK
-
The MTM Black and Asian Empowering Women Award
-
Finalist recognition for my work on the symptom checker video, presented at Parliament and the Smiley Charity Film Awards
I’ve taken part in major awareness campaigns, including Channel 4’s government-backed Ident, the In My Shoes app, and multiple visits
to Parliament to speak about misdiagnosis—an issue still worryingly common today.

I'm also passionate about promoting the Can’t Wait Card—a vital
tool for people living with IBD and other gut conditions.

Guts UK is another incredible charity I work with, and I was honoured
to attend a royal event at St James’s Palace where I met Princess Alexandra, a patron of their work.

This calling to raise awareness and bring change is what I believe
I was saved to do, and I’ll keep pushing forward, because we still
have a lot to do.

Remember: Not all disabilities are visible.
Crohn’s is one of them.
